Caring Host Families
All EducationUSA January Academy students will be cared for by host parents. These host families/parents are carefully selected, screened, and extensively trained. They are there to ensure the health and safety of the students. Students eat meals with their host families and have the opportunity to learn about American life. If students have any questions about the life in Boulder, or if they face any challenges adjusting to life in the United States, the host families are there to help them in any way possible.
Student rooms are furnished with:
- Access to laundry facilities in the home
Students receive 3 nutritious meals per day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
While students will eat the majority of meals with their host families, students will eat their weekday lunches at the Center for Community (C4C). The C4C is most popular dining hall at the University of Colorado Boulder. There, students can enjoy a variety of cuisines: Asian Shi Pin, Italian, kosher, Latin, Persian, sushi, salads, fresh fruit, and desserts.
Host families and the University of Colorado Boulder can accommodate for a variety of dietary needs including:
- Allergies (eggs, dairy, gluten, shellfish, fish, tree nuts, and others).
